Good News For Troubled Times
The COVID-19 crisis is having a massive impact on every area of life at the moment. Here's how CCH is responding, as well as a bunch of resources for these troubled times.
While some churches are beginning to return to their buildings for Sunday services, we at CCH will continue to meet online for the moment. If you haven't already, you can register on this site, which will enable us to keep you up to date with any changes of plan through our weekly news email.
During August, we will be having a series of five pre-recorded services which will be available on YouTube. On 9th August, we will be starting a new series on 'An Oasis of Grace'. Come and be encouraged by the parables Jesus told to take us to the heart of his love for sinners. Click on the image or here to watch this week's service.
Guests and visitors are most welcome to join us!
Our Life Groups are still meeting online on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you're already part of a Life Group, contact your leaders for more information about how this works; if you're not and you'd like to be, get in touch!
Songs of hope in troubled times
As part of encouraging us all to remain hope-filled (that is to say filled with the grounded, unchanging hope that we discover in the character, work and promises of the God of the Bible; God the Father, the Son and the Spirit; not a emotionally wavering, optimistic hope that everything will maybe be ok), we have put together a playlist called "Songs of hope in trouble times". The songs came from suggestions from our Christ Church family and remind us of the gospel, our faithful Father, our rescuer Christ, the reality we are not alone for we have the Holy Spirit, our heavenly home to come and many more truths that this world, even in uncertain times, cannot snatch away. As one of the songs puts it, this is a playlist to remind us that "Christ is our hope in life and death".
One of our church members has written a song reflecting on the current situation, but which is a song for any time of trouble. You can listen to some of our church members playing and singing 'Faith not Fear' here
We have a growing archive of sermons that you can listen to. The following may be particularly helpful at this time.
Do keep in contact with each other via electronic means! Contact Charlie if you're not on the CCH WhatsApp group and you'd like to be, and consider who you might know in church who could do with a phone call or some practical help.
